Oversees ongoing maintenance of the existing physical structure and mechanical systems. Recommends cost-effective methods of maintaining the facility. Recommends cost-effective and efficient utilities operations. Works with the Director to analyze studies regarding building needs in relationship to the needs of the community. Helps identify best approaches to meet these needs. The committee’s function is to advise, recommend, oversee, and report.
Qualifications: Committee members should have skills and experience in any of the following areas
- General building contracting, particularly commercial/industrial
- Civil engineering (structural)
- Facilities / physical plant management
- Architecture / Architectural engineering
Time commitment: The time commitment for a Building Committee member will vary based on the size and number of building projects being undertaken. Expect a time range of 4 – 8 hours per month. Committee membership is for one year.
