Much of the important work of the library board takes place at the committee level. The Board President appoints board committees and is an ex officio member of all committees. Standing committees are Board Development, Building, Finance, Grants, Personnel and Law, Public Relations, Advocacy and Development, Strategic Planning, and Technology. Ad hoc committees may be appointed for specific needs during the year.

Some of the committees meet more often than others depending on the initiatives that are being undertaken. Committee members do not vote on action, but make recommendations to the Board who in turn vote on the committee recommendations.
