Haverford Township Free Library is part of the nationwide network known as the Family Place Libraries. The Family Place Initiative believes that literacy begins at birth, and that libraries can help build healthy communities by nourishing healthy families. Please visit the Children’s Room and our Family Place Center.

The core components of the Family Place Library include a vibrant collection of parenting materials and books for young children, a specifically designed environment that is welcoming to families with young children, and the Parent/Child Workshop.

The Parent/Child Workshop is a five-week program that involves toddlers and their caregivers. It features local professionals who serve as resources for parents and emphasizes the role of parents as a child’s first teacher. HTFL offers the Parent/Child Workshop twice yearly; in the Spring and Fall. Please contact the Children’s Room Desk for more information.
