Homeschooling or just considering it? The Haverford Township Free library is a great place to start!

Our homeschool-friendly environment includes many resources. The staff is always ready to help and includes several homeschool veterans. Our Parent/Teach Collection is filled with ideas, advice and inspiration - from bringing home baby, health and medical issues to curriculum choices, you'll find it here! We also have instructional videos, Hooked on Phonics and Math kits, as well as our online resources which include Mango, a foreign language instructional software available completely online.

Programs

We offer a wide variety of programs for homeschoolers of all ages throughout the year.  

Check out the Calendar of Homeschoolers' Programs including: Chess Club, Creative Writing Club, Handwork Circle, and Game Nights.

  • Research Databases, connect through the Delaware County Library System
  • Mango, an online language-learning system that can help you learn languages like Spanish, French, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, German, Mandarin Chinese, Greek, Italian and more.

  • Get free homework help online via our Live Homework Help tutoring service. Live Homework Help connects students in grades K through 12, introductory college level and adult learners to expert tutors in math, science, social studies, and English. Funding for this service is provided by Delaware County Council.

Our collection of Educational Entertainment DVDs can be found on top of the DVD cases and includes 80+ titles and is growing all the time.

Educational Entertainment DVDs must be checked out on an adult's library card. They go out for 3 days and cost $1 per check out. Overdue fines are $1 per day if returned late.
