Welcome Our New Library Director

The Board of Trustees of the Haverford Township Free Library has announced the selection of Richard Thau as its new director. He began his duties at the library on June 1st with a meet-and-greet breakfast attended by the staff and members of the board.

Thau grew up on the East Coast and received his undergraduate degree in political science from Queens College in New York. He earned his master’s degree in library and information science at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.

Beginning in the corporate library field, over 20 years ago, he then moved on to public libraries and eventually became director of a large public library.

Thau said he looked forward to coming to HTFL and being a part of a major cornerstone of the community. He is anxious to help in the goal of building a state-of-the art facility for the residents of Haverford Township.

We welcome him and wish him well.
