A note from the Director:A note from the Director: It is interesting to hear individuals talk about printed books vs. e-books and how many different opinions there are about the subject. I share with you a recent Wall Street Journal article about this very topic. Whether you like to cozy up with a printed book or your e-Reader, the Haverford Township Free Library has just what you want! Download an e-book to your electronic device or browse through the approximately 130,000 volumes we offer here at HTFL; there is something to strike your fancy. The important thing we can all agree on is how important and wonderful it is to read and how fortunate we are to be able to have it all at our convenience. As always, thank you for your support! Christine Faris, Library Director

My Account

This past year saw the introduction of the Mature Video Game collection at HTFL. In the past, the scope of our material tended to omit titles with an "M+" rating, or even skip instructional fitness titles like Zumba and others. In our attempt to offer a wider range of material to our customers, we continue to support our growing Mature Video Game collection by adding new titles on a semi monthly basis. Mature titles contain content that is generally suitable for ages 17 and up, offering a game experience suitable for adults by exploring science fiction, fantasy, and supernatural genres. Feel free to ask about these games at our circulation desk, or browse our "new release" display near our front entrance.
The Cookbook Club is our newest venture and has become quite popular. Every month a cookbook is chosen and participants prepare a recipe of their choice from that month’s selection. Soup: Superb Ways with a Classic Dish is our selection for January.
Are you an audio book lover? Ever wonder how publishers go about turning your favorite books into great audiobooks?
