A note from the Director:
This week I had the opportunity to attend the Pennsylvania Library Association Conference in Gettysburg and experience new public library services, programs and materials. It is always an exciting time for me to see how HTFL can better serve our community and blend traditional library service with emerging technologies. Okay, call me a library geek, but I believe that anyone who works in a library probably feels the same way.
Congratulations to the Friends of the Haverford Township Free Library, who will hit a new milestone on Saturday (Haverford Township Day) with the last day of their Fall Book Sale. They will have raised, with your help, over $10,000 in 2012! Thank you, Friends, for your hard work and dedication. Don't miss the opportunity to add a few books to your personal collection.
It is not too late! Get your tickets now (deadline is Tuesday, Oct. 9) for a wonderful evening of dining and dancing on Saturday, October 13 at the Open the Book Library Celebration. There will also be a fantastic Silent Auction, sponsored by the Friends of HTFL. That evening wil include an awards ceremony to the following recipients:
-
The Community Partner Award: Friends of the Grange
-
John and Mary Lou Toal Award of Honor: MusicWorks-accepted by Jerry and Lori O’Leary
-
Outstanding Library Advocate: Richard Romejko
-
Outstanding Community Advocate: Mary Beth Lauer
Please attend and show your support!
Thank you, as always, for your support of HTFL; if you have any questions or comments, please let me know.
