Congratulations to the Friends of the Haverford Township Free Library on the 10th anniversary of their Book Sale! The Book Sale that will take place on the lower level of the Library on Friday night September 28, Saturday, September 29 and Sunday October 30, and raises much needed money for special programs, equipment and services for HTFL. Please visit the Library and purchase wonderful books for your collection, your children or other family members or even your friends.

Making Sense of Young Adult Fiction

Feeling unsure about the books your kids are reading? This class may be for you! Come learn about current young adult literature such as the Twilight Series and Hunger Games Series. Learn how to determine if a book is developmentally appropriate for your child. This program will be led by Heather Hebert, owner and operator of Children’s Book World and Marianne Martino, certified school and licensed psychologist.

Creative Corner offers older preschoolers, ages 4 and 5, the opportunity to have fun, stretch their creative muscles, and enjoy dramatic play.

Smile! -- Raina Telgemeier Visits Teen Graphic Novel Club

You heard that right – Eisner Award winning graphic novelist, Raina Telgemeier is coming HERE!
Her book, Smile, a critically acclaimed graphic memoir, was a New York Times bestseller and winner of the Will Eisner Award for Best Publication for Teens, and received a Boston Globe-Horn Book Honor. Raina also adapted and illustrated "The Baby-sitters Club" graphic novels, which were selected for YALSA’s Great Graphic Novels for Teens list and Booklist’s Top 10 Graphic Novels for Youth list.
