Put Something on Hold

You can place most Delaware County Library System items on hold by phone or from any computer with internet access. When placing holds online, you will need the 14 digit barcode number on your library card.

To place items on hold by phone:
Call during library hours at 610-446-3082. A staff person will be glad to work with you.

To place a hold online:

From the catalog:

  • You can search by title, author, subject, keyword (word), or call number (Dewey number).
  • Click on the Request button (the button will be on the left of the title list page or on the top of the title detail page)
  • Enter you name (as it appears on your card) and your library card barcode.
  • Select the library where you want to pick up your item.
  • Click the submit button.
  • A new screen will appear indicating that your hold was placed successfully (if this is not the case, please contact the library by phone, 610-446-3082 or email at htflref@gmail.com).

From My Account:

  • Click on My Account on the upper right corner of the homepage.
  • Enter your name exactly as it appears on your library card.
  • Enter the 14 digit bar code
  • Click on submit
  • Click the search catalog
  • You can search by title, author, subject, keyword (word), or call number (Dewey number).
  • Once you have made your selection, click on the Request button (the button will be on the left of the title list page or on the top of the title detail page)
  • Select the library where you want to pick up your item.
  • Click submit.
  • A new screen will appear indicating that your hold was placed successfully (if this is not the case, please contact the library by phone, 610-446-3082 or email at htflref@gmail.com).
