Cinco de Mayo--May 5

Ever wonder why the Cinco de Mayo holiday is so important to Mexico?  The fifth of May is a national celebration and holiday recognizing the anniversary of the Battle of Puebla in 1862, in which Mexican troops under General Ignacio Zaragoza, outnumbered three to one, defeated invading French forces of Napoleon III.  It is a day for festivals, parades, dances and speeches.
