Building Project & Capital Campaign
No longer a passive repository of books and information or an outpost of culture, quiet and decorum in a noisy world, the new library is an active and responsive part of the community and an agent for change.
In the world of community building, local libraries have
a unique and powerful role……
A library in a community can turn a place around physically,
encouraging new social networks and attracting further
reinvestment and development……
Libraries come to the table with a wealth of assets:
community space, technology resources, connections
to the local economy, a sense of ownership
by the community and, above all, a level of
community trust.
With these assets, they can connect to all parts of a
community, building those relationships and networks
that contributes to a strong social infrastructure.
They are important community engagement catalysts.
