Summer

"Summertime, and the livin' is easy......," lyrics from the song Summertime.  George Gershwin, along with Ira Gershwin, composed the 1935 aria for the opera, Porgy and Bess.

Just those few words emit a sense of "kicking back" and relaxing with a cool drink underneath a shady tree in the backyard when it is too hot to do the everyday chores.  I hope you are enjoying some time to relax and get away from it all.  Don't forget to include a good book while relaxing.

Did you know that HTFL is now lending eReaders?  If you have been wrangling with the idea of purchasing a Nook or Kindle, drop in and check out one of the many we have available preloaded with book selections.  That way you can try before you buy.

Take time for yourself during this heat wave, come in to the Library and get cool, relax and let the good times roll!  Oh dear, I think I hear another song coming on :-)

Lego Club - 7.3.13

Today in Lego Club we started the Independence Day celebration a little early with patriotic themed creations.  Lego club members could create ANYTHING they wanted as long as it was red, white, or blue or some combination of those colors.  Check out what they made below and get in the spirit of the holiday!

This past week at Lego Club, our challenge was inspired by our summer reading club theme of Dig Into Reading!  One of the many things we thought of digging for would be dinosaur bones so our lego clubbers went wild this week in creating different archaelogical scenes as well as dinosaurs put back together!  Check them out below:
