May is Military Appreciation Month so we decided to honor that by building military-inspired creations in Lego Club today!  The group was quite focused today on what they were building.  Check out their lego creations below:

Next week will be our LAST week of the spring session Lego Club before we take a month off to prepare for our summer session!  Hope to see you there!

Congratulations to the Friends of the Haverford Township Free Library

Annually, the Delaware County Library System and member libraries support the Legislative Breakfast which honors an Outstanding Public Official, Outstanding Library Employee, and Outstanding Citizen for Libraries.  Today, the Friends of the Haverford Township Free Library were awarded the 2013 Phyllis S. Larson Award for Outstanding Citizen for Libraries, held at the Delaware County Law Library at the Courthouse in Media.  The award, named in honor of Ms. Larson, a volunteer who was instrumental in the beginning of the Delaware County Library  System, is given to a citizen or group that embodies the volunteer spirit for libraries.

There are some really silly holidays out there!  Did you know that this past Friday on May 3 was National Two Different-Colored Shoes Day?  In keeping with the spirit of this silly holiday, at Lego Club today, we make two different-colored creations.  See if we kept to the two colors below:

There are only two weeks left in our spring session of Lego Club!  Come check us out before we're on our summer program planning break!

A new month means new holidays!  May marks both Motorcycle Safety Month as well as National Bike Month.  To commemorate both of these celebrations, in Lego Club, we made our own two-wheeled creations.  See what we came up with below:

What a gorgeous day we have today!  It's even more fitting that this week is National Playground Safety Awareness Week!  To commemorate this holiday and the beautiful weather, lego clubbers created their own playgrounds as well as different things one might  find in a playground or park.  Check them out below:

Come out and join us next week!
