Love was in the air at today's lego club! Since tomorrow is Valentine's Day, it seemed fitting that we create our own versions of valentines. Some created sweet shops and others made lego hearts. There was even a love boat and some sweet messages for us to read! Check them out below:
Hope everyone has a nice Valentine's Day and an even better Presidents' Day weekend! See you next week!
Hello there lego clubbers! Today, we celebrated a key literary figure through our lego designs. Robinson Crusoe Day took place on Friday, February 1 so we created items that could find themselves on a deserted island. The results were quite impressive: a shipwrecked pirate ship, dune buggies, caves to take shelter in, a dancing pirate and much more! Take a look below:
Hope to see you all again next week!
Once again, the Haverford Township Free Library (HTFL) is honored to be chosen for the Free Library of Philadelphia's One Book One Philadelphia author event. Julie Otsuka, author of Buddha in the Attic, will come to Haverford Township to speak to the community about her book through a partnership with the Haverford Township School District, the Rotary Club of Haverford Township and HTFL. Not only will the author speak at the high school on Tuesday, March 12, but she will attend a luncheon in her honor here at the library on that day. Tickets are available for the luncheon at $15/person. Stop by the library to purchase your ticket.
Don't miss this extraordinary opportunity!
What a heat wave we have today! Ironically, today's Lego Club theme coincided with the week-long celebration that started today and runs through February 3 of National Snow Sculpting Week. Since there wasn't any snow on the ground for us to sculpt with, we decided to build our own snow creations with legos! Check them out below:
Hope to see more of you next week!
Did you know that January 2013 is International Creativity Month? This week we celebrated this theme by building ANYTHING we wanted as long as we were doing so creatively! Did we come up with some unique creations? See for yourself below:
Come check us out next week! Keep warm!
