The Orphan Train Movement - 1854-1928

As we read this year’s One Book, One Philadelphia selection, Orphan Train and prepare for Christina Baker Kline’s visit,  please join us for this program on the Orphan Train Movement on Sunday, February 8th at 2pm.

Come learn about the history of this 75 year “social experiment” - now recognized as our country’s first Foster Care System—which transported an estimated 250,000 homeless children from the streets of New York City to farming communities of the Midwest in search of stable homes.

This program is free and open to the public.  No registration required.
