Start date night early with Bill Wine!

KYW's Film Critic Bill Wine is coming to the Library!

We know in our hearts that books and movies are so different that we really shouldn't compare them. And yet, we just can't help it. In this presentation on Saturday, November 16th at 3pm, Bill Wine discusses the psychological differences between the reading and viewing experience. He also analyzes the way classic and modern novels have been translated into films.

A collection of indelible written works that have provided the source material for storied, memorable movies are discussed, including The Grapes of Wrath, To Kill a Mockingbird, Schindler's List, Bridget Jones' Diary, The Graduate, A Clockwork Orange, The Silence of the Lambs, Sophie's Choice, The Maltese Falcon and more. And don't worry, we also deal with the insufferable bombs!

This presentation is a program of the Pennsylvania Humanities Council supported in part by the National Endwoment for the Humanities.  The Pennsylvania Humanities Council, a nonprofit organization, inspires individuals to enjoy and share a life of learning
