French Cuisine and Healthy Eating

french food

Join Dr. Janet Chrzan, a nutritional anthropologist at the University of Pennsylvania, for a discussion of French cuisine and dietary habits on Sunday, March 14 at 2 PM.

Americans continue to turn to fast and junk food to respond to food cravings and hectic lifestyles - often with serious long-term health consequences. France is the home of the “French Paradox” diet – a country where people eat more cheese and meat, drink more wine, and smoke more cigarettes than Americans yet have lower rates of cardiovascular disease and obesity.

Dr. Chrzan will show pictures of meals, gardens and markets in Paris and the Loire Valley, and explain sensible, easy and practical ways to improve everyday nutrition, food habits and health.
